Lights! Camera! Action!
The Atlanta premiere of Black Nativity was held last night at the Regal Cinema in Atlantic Station. The screening was the opening night film for this year’s BronzeLens Film Festival (BLFF) and featured a Q&A session with the film’s director, Kasi Lemmons and the film’s 17-year-old star Jacob Latimore.
Spotted on the red carpet were a few ATL stars (most are away at the Soul Train Awards) including The Have and Have Not actresses Crystal Fox and Renee Lawless, former RHOA Lisa Wu, comedic actor Rodney Perry and former San Diego Charger Takeo Spikes. Also spotted in the mix were Gospel singer Micah Stampley, Gary with the T and Headcrack from The Rickey Smiley Show and R&B singer B Angie B, who still got it goin on.
As previously reported, Black Nativity stars Jennifer Hudson as a single mother struggling to make ends meet while raising her teenage son Langston, played by Latimore. She is forced to send Langston to his grandparents’ home in NYC for Christmas where Langston learns the true meaning of the holiday season. Forest Whitaker, Angela Bassett, Tyrese, Nas, Luke James and Mary J. Blige round out the all-star cast.
Black Nativity opens in theaters November 27 (Thanksgiving Weekend).
