Last night 2012 Billboard Music Awards recognized the most popular artists and albums from 2011 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Listed below are a few of the categories and winners:
ARTIST AWARDS:
- Top New Artist: Wiz Kahlifa
- Top Male Artist & Top Rap Artist: Lil Wayne
- Top Streaming Artist: Rihanna
- Top R&B Artist: Chris Brown
ALBUM AWARDS:
- Top R&B Album: Beyonce “4”
- Top Rap Album: Lil Wayne “Tha Carter IV”
SONG AWARDS:
- Top Radio Song: Pitbull Feat. Ne-Yo, Afrojack & Nayer “Give Me Everything”
- Top Streaming Song (video): Nicki Minaj “Super Bass”
- Top R&B Song: Kelly Rowland feat. Lil Wayne “Motivation”
Whitney Houston received the Millenium Award while Stevie Wonder was honored with the Billboard Icon Award.
*sidenote: Kudos to Janet Jackson (she wasn’t a winner last night) for winning the most Billboard awards ever, 33!
