Before her untimely death, Whitney Houston sat down with Entertainment Tonight to discuss her role in the film re-make of the 1976 cult classic, Sparkle. According to ET’s Mark Steines, Houston appeared to be excited and happy to be back on the big screen.

Sparkle is a film about three sisters from Harlem that form a singing group in the late 1950’s and is loosely based on the story of The Supremes.
The movie is set to open in theatres August 17th.
