“Is you okay? Is you good? Cuz I want to know!” That was the burning question that social media sensation and beloved comedienne GloZell [Green] wanted to know as she greeted fans Wednesday night at one Atlanta-area Barnes & Nobles.

The self-proclaimed “Queen of YouTube” stopped by the Edgewood location to take pictures and sign copies of her new book, Is You Okay? Everyone from toddlers to the elderly stood in line to get up close and personal with GloZell, who sported her signature Shirley Temple curls, Emerald City green cape and sparkling green lipstick. GloZell was also accompanied by her mother Gloria Green, who also rocked her curly locks too.

Is You Okay?  is a fun, inspiring memoir that chronicles GloZell’s meteoric rise from Orlando, Florida to Hollywood, California while gaining throngs of internet fans and followers from around the world with her outlandish videos and YouTube challenges. Never afraid to make a fool of herself, GloZell has laughed all the way to The White House, where she conducted a one-on-one interview with President Barack Obama. She has also appeared on “Dr. Oz,” “20/20,” “ABC News,” MTV, “Steve Harvey Talent Show” and “Showtime at the Apollo.”

GloZell’s slapstick humor has also put her in the ranks of some pretty legendary comediennes such as Whoopi Goldberg, Ellen DeGeneres, Carol Burnett, Lucille Ball, Tina Fey and Phyllis Diller. She recently talked to FORBES about her success and shared the following career advice with the magazine’s readers:

1. Follow your passion! As I say that I roll my eyes because everyone says it, but it’s so true! People are scared that they won’t be able to make a living doing what they love, so they live a life criticizing those that do. This is where faith comes in, to be bold enough to try.

2. My next piece of advice is to get educated in the career that you want to go into. For example, the Internet changes all the time and you have to stay current and be willing to learn and relearn new aspects of your field. No matter what career you go into, continuing your education is key.

3. Don’t let competition take over your life. Know that your best is good enough, and that trying to hard to be like someone else is not going to get you very far. Be original and be the best you! I’m rolling my eyes again because that’s said so often, but the longer you live the more you see the truth in it.
