Some of Atlanta most recognizable reality stars attended a special screening Thursday night of a new CDC funded PSA promoting HIV-AIDS Awareness, Testing, and Prevention. The event took place at Atlanta’s new National Center for Civil and Human Rights and was presented by The Vision Community Foundation, Traxx Girls, Incl and The Gentlemen’s Foundation.

RHOA star Claudia Jordan and Bravo’s Fashion Queens Derek J and Miss Lawrence all came out to support their “Testing Makes Us Stronger” PSA. The 2-minute clip also features RHOA stars Kenya Moore, Cynthia Bailey, and Brandon DeShazer and is directed by acclaimed filmmaker, Patrick-Ian Polk. The campaign is part of the CDC’s new initiative to encourage and promote testing among Black gay and bisexual men since Atlanta has the highest numbers of new HIV-AIDS cases in the U.S.

In addition to the screening, attendees were treated to light refreshments, exhibits from community based organizations, free HIV testing, a tour of the center and a panel discussion with the CDC and the video’s stars, hosted by Juan and Gee Sessions-Smalls. The event also served as the official opening of Atlanta’s Black Gay Pride and coincided with the opening of the center’s new LGBTQ Institute.
