Four-time NAACP winner Kimberly Elise is starring in the new UP Original Movie Apple Mortgage Cake. Based on the true story of Angela Logan, Apple Mortgage Cake, tells how the single mother of three set a goal to bake 100 cakes in 10 days in order to save their home from foreclosure.

“Apple Mortgage Cake is the inspirational, real-life story about how one good idea — and a ton of apples, sugar, flour and butter — can change a family’s future for the better,”  said Barbara Fisher, svp, original programming, UP.  “We are thrilled to introduce viewers to Angela Logan and her family, who went from foreclosure to “overnight” success and her own prosperous apple cake bakery in Teaneck, New Jersey.”

The film also features an all-star cast including Kevin Hanchard, Lamar Johnson, Stephen James, A.J. Saudin, Gabrielle Miller, Joanne Boland, Paul De La Rosa, Catherine Disher, Peter Williams, Siobhan Murphy, Barry Flatman, Darlene Cooke and Millie Davis.

Apple Mortgage Cake  will make its world television premiere on UP in 2014.  The film is directed by Michael Scott and written by Jamie Pachino.
