In April, we reported that NickMom had ordered 13 episodes of Tia Mowry-Hardict’s new show Instant Mom. The half-hour comedy is the network’s first original scripted series and was created by Warren Bell and Jessica Butler and executive-produced by Howard Gould and Aaron Kaplan.

Instant Mom  follows Mowry as Stephanie, a young party girl who trades in cosmos for carpools when she marries an older man, Charlie, played by Michael Boatman. Charlie is also the father to three kids played by Sydney Park, Tylen Williams and Damarr Calhoun.  Stephanie slowly grows into her role as a full-time stepmom while struggling to maintain some sense of her fun-loving, slightly irresponsible life.  Rounding out the cast is veteran television and stage actress Sheryl Lee Ralph who plays Stephanie’s mother Maggie.
