Every actor dreams of that role or film that will catapult his or her star to the next level. Well, from the looks of this new movie poster from Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, Idris Elba’s dream may come true sooner than later.
The British actor appears on a sepia-toned poster with the words, “Trouble Maker”written in starch white. Elba looks very focused and determined in this visual which is noticeably different from the other brightly colored apartheid-themed posters that were previously released. This time you get a really good look at Elba as a younger Mandela during his freedom fighting ANC days.
As previously reported, this biopic will highlight Mandela’s early life, coming of age, education and 27 year prison sentence on Robben Island. The film also stars the beautiful and talented Naomie Harris as Mandela’s wife, Winnie and was written by Les Mis writer William Nicholson.
