More good news from across the pond!

Today, tennis diva Serena Williams defeated Maria Sharapova in the women’s final, becoming the second woman to complete a career Golden Slam.

Not since Steffi Graf’s 1988 victory, has any other female tennis star won all four Grand Slams and the Olympic gold medal.

According to Newsone, The victory completed a remarkable run of domination by the No. 4-seeded Williams, who lost only 17 games in six matches en route to her first singles gold medal. She went 13-0 this summer at the All England Club, where she won her fifth Wimbledon title a month ago.

Williams can now add this gold medal to her 14 Grand Slam single championships, the most of any active woman.

Congratulations once again to Serena Williams for making Olympic history!
