Beyoncé is lending her voice to help the United Nations and several humanitarian aid organizations spread the word about World Humanitarian Day on August 19th.

The campaign is using the singer’s ballad, “I Was Here” as an anthem to celebrate humanity and the spirit of people helping people. Knowles encourages everyone to join in and do their part on this historic day.

“We all see the headlines and we think what I can really do to help,” said Beyoncé. “World Humanitarian Day is an opportunity for all of us to work together to make a difference. This is our time to leave our mark on the world and show that we were here and we care.”
