I guess Tamar Braxton has been bitten by the talk show bug. The singer and reality-star, who once co-hosted VH1’s Tiny Tonight is now gearing up for another gig with the Fox Network.
According to Indie Wire, Braxton will join forces with actress Tamera Mowry (left) for a new talk show entitled, The Real. The program is already being compared to existing women paneled talk shows like The Talk and will be co-hosted by Loni Love, Adrienne Bailon and Jeannie Mai.
As previously reported, Braxton and her famous sisters were shopping a talk show last November called Spill the T. The project was slated to be a sassier version of The View including celebrity gossip, relationships, fashion, makeover segments and celebrity guests. However, not much has been said about the show since its initial buzz.
The Real will be competing with a number of other African-American hosted shows including ASPiRE’s new entry, Exhale, featuring Malinda Williams and Issa Rae, The Queen Latifah Show as well as The Wendy Williams Show and Steve Harvey.
Look for The Real to debut on July 8.
What are your thoughts? Do we need another talk show?
