Next year Spike Lee‘s (best film to date), Do The Right Thing celebrates its 25th anniversary! In 2009 a two-disc special edition DVD (and also Blu-ray) set, loaded with extras, was released to celebrate the film’s then 20th anniversary.
Entertainment Weekly and Good Morning America joined the cast (Lee, Rosie Perez, Ruby Dee, Giancarlo Esposito, Samuel L. Jackson, and more) at site where the movie was filmed for a trip down memory lane. For nine weeks in the summer of 1988 the cast and crew took over a single block in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn, NY.
Sal’s Famous Pizza may be long gone, and the neighborhood changed from the days when Radio Raheem blasted Public Enemy from his oversize boombox, but there’s still a lot of movie history there.
So, will the masterpiece ever make it to Broadway?
