Hip Hop icon LL Cool J covers the March issue of ESSENCE.
The NAACP Image Award winner talks to the magazine about his enduring 30-year career and putting family first. “I think, at the end of the day, as a man, you should support the woman you’re with. If she’s got a dream, you need to help make that a reality. I’m doing the best I can to do that…”
LL Cool J returns as host of this year’s Grammy Awards airing on Sunday, February 10 at 8pm on CBS.

The magazine hosted its 4th Annual Black Women in Music event last night at the Greystone Manor Supperclub in West Hollywood, CA. Vocalists Solange Knowles and Lianne La Havas were recognized for their contributions to music and for “making their own mark on the industry and around the world.”

The posh affair was hosted by Kelly Rowland and ESSENCE editor-at-large Emil Wilberkin. A number of A-Listers attended the event including Jill Scott, Estelle, Kelis, Nene Leakes and Ne-Yo.
