JET magazine is reporting that R&B crooner John Legend has sold another one of his television projects, this time to USA Network.
As previously reported, Legend formed a partnership last year with Universal Cable Productions (UCP) to develop TV series for cable and broadcast networks through his company, Get Lifted Films. The first project was a comedy sold to Fox TV in October and is said to be loosely based on the singer’s life. This second project is a new crime drama called “The Edge.”
The show is said to be an “an idealistic Harvard Business School graduate named Jeff Cross who joins a progressive financial firm called Edgeton Global (aka The Edge), where he discovers the company’s secrets while becoming entangled in a high-stakes FBI investigation.”
According to Legend and his Get Lifted partners Mike Jackson and Ty Stiklorious, they are very pleased with the new partnership. “We are very excited about our first sale through our UCP deal and look forward to many more.”
Congrats John and looking forward to seeing both projects!
