R&B vocalist Eric Benét wants to find the next big soul music star in a new reality series titled Sub Stars.
Reportedly Benet will host and co-produce the show that will “pit the best ‘underground’ musicians, discovered in the subway systems of major U.S. cities against one another.”
“I am very excited about being a part of this new TV project,” said Benét. “It gives truly unique characters with a different and innovative sound, a platform to showcase their musical individualism and real talent. Plus at the same time, explore our country’s busiest cities, but in an underground light.”
Benet has already created a kickstarter fund for the show’s first season with the hopes of raising almost $400,000 by December 20. Contestants will compete for a record deal as well as cash prizes and fans will have an opportunity to scout for talent and vote for winners using a new show app.
Benet will produce the show with Viardo Artists and Natural 9 Entertainment.
