Star Jones is headed back to daytime television as one of five co-hosts for a new talk show produced and distributed by Debmar-Mercury. Sounds familiar huh?
According to THP, the attorney and television personality is ecstatic about the new legal-themed show and told Fishbowl NY that the opportunity couldn’t have come at a better time.
“I can’t say much, but I can tell you exclusively I shot the pilot on Sunday and its multi-host – the opportunity came to me when I was in the middle of a million things — and I’m more excited about this than I’ve been in long time,” Jones said. “It’s right in my wheel house.”
Jones also claims that the days of single host formatted shows are over.
“I don’t think the single-host format will be successful any longer. The time for those shows has passed,” she also said. “I think people want to tune in and see a group of people with some real diversity and that are relatable.”
This is Jones’ second attempt at the multi-host format. She spent 9 years of her career as the co-host of ABC’s The View and left that show in 2006. Since that time she has appeared as a guest legal analyst on such shows as The Insider and Dr. Phil. She was also a contestant on fourth installment of Celebrity Apprentice.
RC will keep you posted as more information about this show continues to develop.
