90s TV icon and singer Tisha Campbell-Martin has been cast in ABC’s new dramatic pilot. The untitled project comes from the creative minds of Pam Veasey, GMA‘s Robin Roberts and Regina King.

According to S&A, the show will focus on the lives office African-American sisters, all officers in the NYPD, as they face the challenges of their high-risk jobs while juggling the responsibilities of marriage, motherhood and family.  It is based on the real-life story of the Holmes sisters.

Campbell-Martin will portray Sergeant Anise Kendrick-Morrison and she is being described as “a witty, tough, and outspoken Patrol Officer with a sharp sense of humor. She is immensely proud of her family, especially her four sisters who are all in the NYPD. The first to join the force, she proudly patrols her own childhood neighborhood in Queens.”

Former Underground actress Amirah Vann is also starring in the pilot.

Campbell-Martin is best known for her work in such classics as Rags to Riches, Little Shop of Horrors, Martin, My Wife and Kids and Spike Lee‘s School Daze, which recently celebrated its 30th Anniversary.
