CONGRATS to “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kandi Burruss. The Grammy winning singer-songwriter will be making her Broadway debut in the long-running musical, “CHICAGO.”

According to Playbill, Burruss will take on the role of the vivacious Matron “Mama” Morton beginning January 15 through March 11, 2018 at the Ambassador Theatre.

“CHICAGO” is a satire on corruption in the administration of criminal justice and the concept of the “celebrity criminal.” The musical currently stars Tony nominee Charlotte d’Amboise as Roxie Hart, Olivier winner Leigh Zimmerman as Velma Kelly, Todrick Hall (through January 14) as Billy Flynn, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart, LaVon Fisher-Wilson as Matron “Mama” Morton, and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.

Burruss is no stranger to musical theatre. If you remember, she and her husband, Todd Tucker, presented the stage production, “A Mother’s Love.” The show was loosely based on Kandi’s rise to superstardom with the R&B group Xscape.

Stay tuned…
