VH1 is adding more star power to its upcoming scripted series “Daytime Divas.” The new one-hour program will debut in 2017 and is based on Star Jones‘ popular book “Satan’s Sisters.”

“Daytime Divas” follows a fictitious long running talk show entitled “The Lunch Hour,” and is hosted by five female co-hosts. On screen, they are best friends with five very different points of view, but behind the scenes, they inhabit a world of power struggles, cat fights and cocktails. Vanessa Williams, Tichina Arnold, Chloe Bridges, Camille Guaty and Fiona Gubelmann will portray the five hosts.

According to a press release, Broadway star and “Scandal” actor Norm Lewis will have a recurring role as “William,” a handsome doorman who may hold one of the ladies’ darkest secrets. Music legend Patti LaBelle will play “Gloria,” William’s sharp-tongued, fabulous, prying mother who loves visitng her son in New York City to catch the latest sales. Eve will star as “Cecile James,” author of a book about alpha women who comes on “The Lunch Hour” as a guest host hoping to make her stint permanent. Tasha Smith play “Portia Camden,” a popular lifestyle guru who joins the ladies as a guest co-host on the show. La La Anthony will play “Isabel Carlisle,” a crisis management expert brought in by Maxine (Vanessa Williams) to help handle a situation that has gone public with one of the hosts. Transgender media personality Janet Mock will be a guest co-host on “The Lunch Hour” who ends up connecting with and helping one of the other hosts.  Kristen Johnston, Kelly Osbourne, Debby Ryan, Rob Estes, Scott Evans and McKinley Freeman will also star on the show.

“Daytime Divas” is executive produced by Star Jones and Motown legend Suzanne de Passe and is currently being shot in Atlanta, GA.
