Rap veteran YoYo was on cloud nine when I ran into last week at Kelly Price‘s birthday party and now I know why!  The iconic hip-hop star is the newest addition to the nationally syndicated Café Mocha Radio. As the show moves into its sixth year, the Ice Cube protégé has signed on to be a permanent co-host of the top-rated weekend show targeting women.

Best known for classic rap hits like “Can’t Play With My YoYo,” “The Bonnie & Clyde Theme” with Cube and “I Wanna Be Down” with Brandy, Queen Latifah and MC Lyte; YoYo will join original Café Mocha hosts Loni Love of “The Real” and broadcast veteran Angelique Perrin on the syndicated show.

“I’m ecstatic to join Loni and Angelique, these women are leaders in their industries, who openly and freely share their personal and professional insights weekly with listeners,” says YoYo. “As Café Mocha continues to evolve, I’m looking forward to adding my flavor with anecdotes about my life as an entertainer, mother, philanthropist, and educator.”

With more than 25 years in the music business, YoYo’s professional journey was recently featured on TV One’s marquee franchise, “Unsung.” The Compton, Calif.-native-who has consistently toured throughout the years-performed earlier this year at the Trumpet Awards in Atlanta as part of a tribute to hip-hop trailblazers Salt-N-Pepa.

A feminist and community crusader, Café Mocha’s newest co-host is working to empower young people with her youth program, YoYo’s School of Hip-Hop. YoYo’s program operates in both Los Angeles, Calif. and Highland Park, Mich., where her husband, DeAndre Windom, is the mayor.

CONGRATS YOYO!
