You name it and Oscar-nominated actress Viola Davis has played it. From the degenerate welfare mother in “Antwone Fisher” to the domestic worker with a heart of gold in “The Help” to her current role as the sexy, straight-no-chaser attorney in ABC’s primetime thriller,  “How To Get Away with Murder,” Davis has portrayed a number of complex characters. However it’s her current role as Carol Barrett in the upcoming cyber thriller, “Blackhat,” that has the 49-year-old actress talking.

She recently attended a press conference at the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles with her co-star Chris Hemsworth.  During the interview, Davis revealed that she was just as excited about securing the role as she was about working with the film’s legendary director, Michael Mann.

Davis admits also that the storyline drew her in as well, saying, “Cyberterrorism was a subject that fascinated me also.” Davis jokes, “exotic locations did appeal to me also.”

When asked what she learned from the real-life themes depicted in the film, specifically the threat of cyber-terrorism, she says bluntly, “That I’m a sitting duck”. She continues, “I can’t get ahead of them and they are far ahead of me.”

The film’s various shooting locations, which included Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, made for quite the dream vacation. “I had never been to that part of the world; I absolutely loved it. The location is another character,” says Davis.
