The official lyric video for John Legend and Common’s new song, “Glory” was released on Monday. The inspirational tune is part of the soundtrack for the upcoming movie, “Selma,” which opens in New City, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Washington D.C. on December 25 and then nationwide on January 9.
“Glory” has already been nominated for a Golden Globe (Best Song), Critics’ Choice Awards (Best Song) and African-American Film Critics Association Awards (Best Music).
As previously reported, “Selma” chronicles the landmark 1965 voting rights campaign regarded as the peak of the civil rights movement. Led by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his band of brothers, the movement included several marches from Selma to Montgomery under dangerous opposition with one such event known as Bloody Sunday.
