ABC’s The View  has made history this week. The hugely popular daytime talk show has added Latina actress and author Rosie Perez to its new roster of co-hosts. It’s a first in the show’s 17-year history.  Perez will join veterans, Rosie O’Donnell and Whoopi Goldberg when the new season debuts on September 15. Also joining the ladies is political consultant Nicole Wallace.

The two new additions are replacing Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd, who exited the show after last season.  “These are powerful and accomplished women from different walks of life who have had amazing personal and professional experiences. Each brings incredible perspective and information to the table,” executive producer Bill Wolff says. “This mix of smart, vibrant and energetic women is unlike anything else on daytime television.

In addition to The View,  Perez will co-star in ABC’s comedy pilot, An American Education, where she plays Rita Gomez, a hard-nosed vice principal who goes toe-to-toe with Jack Whitehall’s character, Alfie.

Congrats Ladies!

Stay Tuned…
