Idris Elba is wasting no time preparing for his next role.
Variety is reporting that the British actor is joining the cast of the new thriller, Alive Alone starring Sam Worthington and Noomi Rapace. Reportedly, Elba will play ex-detainee of Guantanamo Bay named Jamal who works as a taxi driver. Rapace will play Sarah, a prostitute on the run from a feared crime boss. Jamal and Sarah will find salvation in each other when their two worlds collide. Worthington will play the notorious crime boss named Murphy.
Alive Alone is being produced by Basil Iwanyk along with Rapace as executive producer. The film is being shot on location in New York City in March and is being released by Thunder Road Pictures.
Elba was last seen in Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.
