Before Lenny Kravitz takes on the tumultuous life story of Motown legend Marvin Gaye, he must play another musical superstar…himself!

The Rock & Soul singer is starring in a new documentary based on the three-month recording process of his newly release album, “Black and White America.”

According to Indie Wire, the film is entitled “Looking Back on Love” and is considered to be a full-on rock and roll music production where viewers will experience the Bahamian culture through a day-to-day look at Lenny’s life, as well as watch him create and record the songs at his newly built Bahamas studio, Gregory Town Sound.

The film is said to also include exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes footage of Kravitz working alongside musical partner Craig Ross, New Orleans trumpeter Trombone Shorty, and longtime collaborators George Laks, Harold Todd and Michael Hunter.

There is also commentary about his mixed heritage and the election of President Barack Obama.

Looking Back on Love will be available on iTunes tomorrow, January 29.
