Indie Wire is reporting that QED International, the company that put up the money for the new Alex Cross  film starring Tyler Perry, is currently looking to strike a deal for the rights to James Patterson’s other novel Double Cross.  This would be a follow up to the current flick and a sequel for Perry.

According to sources, the story follows Cross who is now on the hunt for two serial killers; hence the name “Double Cross.”  This is a bold step for filmmakers considering the lackluster reviews the movie has already received before its debut weekend.  However, producers are very confident that Perry’s devoted fan base will come out in numbers and support their star.  Let’s hope for their sake and Perry’s that this film is a box-office success.

In other Perry news…look for him on the cover of November’s Men’s Health.  The 6’5 director-actor-philanthropist chats about his current weight loss, film role and why he is more confident now than he has ever been before.

“I walk into a room with a lot more confidence. All my life I’ve tried to hide my height. I was taller than everybody else and stood out, so I would slouch and try to hide it. But with what I’ve been able to do with my body, I’m owning it. I’m standing up when I walk into a room. Now, I feel like it’s okay to be thought of as sexy.”
