If you’re a James Bond fan like me, then you are already on pins and needles about the up incoming film Skyfall, which debuts this month.

I am also looking forward to seeing British actress Naomie Harris as Bond girl, Field Agent Eve.  Harris is one of three women of color who has held the coveted title including Gloria Hendry as Rosie in Live and Let Die  and Halle Berry as Jinx in Die Another Day.  Remember Grace Jones’ villainous character “Mayday” doesn’t count even though she did get busy with 007 in A View to A Kill.

Harris, who has appeared in such films as 28 Days Later  and Pirates of the Caribbean, was eagerly excited to work with Daniel Craig (James Bond) and hopes her role will change the perception of how a Bond girl is supposed to act.

“She’s very intelligent and highly ambitious–her aim is to be as capable as James Bond,” Harris says. “It’s much more evolved, much more reflective of how women are now–multifaceted, multidimensional and equal to men. It’s amazing, sometimes, you watch other movies and you think, ‘Wow, are we really still there…where the woman’s offering the drinks and there’s nothing more to her?’”

Check out Harris’ full interview in the November issue of InStyle UK  due on newsstands today!
