BET is reporting that Monica is heading back to the “lab” to start working on new material.

The singer, who was in New York last week, met with her RCA Records label about the new project which will be a follow up to her New Life  album.  Inspired by the meeting, she then tweeted an impressive list of producers who would be working on it including Jim Jonson, Stargate, Mike Will, Red Styles, Polow Da Don, Missy Elliott and Jermaine Dupri.

This will be Monica’s eighth studio album. Her seventh release, which debuted earlier this year at No. 4 on the Billboard charts, featured the hit single It All Belongs to Me  with friend Brandy.

Monica was recently seen rocking the mic along with R&B heart-throb Sammie and a host of others for Clark Atlanta University’s Homecoming Concert.  Check out her performance below as she honors her friend and mentor, Whitney Houston with a rendition of the song, You Give Good Love
