Lifetime network’s remake of the 1989 classic, Steel Magnolias, has released it’s trailer July and has now set October 7, at 9pm for the world premiere. Photos/posters of the cast have been released as well and include: Queen Latifah (she’s also executive producer) as M’Lynn, Alfre Woodard as Ouiser, Phylicia Rashad as Clairee, Jill Scott as Truvy, Adepero Oduye as Annelle and Rashad’s daughter, Condola Rashad as Shelby.
Lance Gross, Tory Kittles and Michael Beasley co-star.
This all-black reincarnation for Lifetime is directed by Kenny Leon (ABC’s A Raisin in The Sun, Broadway’s Fences and The Mountaintop), from a script adapted from the 1989 film screenplay by Sally Robinson.
