Congratulations to Pearlena Igbokwe for being named the new Executive Vice President of Drama Development for NBC Entertainment.

According to IndieWire.com the announcement was made earlier this week that the veteran program executive would be replacing Laura Lancaster. This position oversees the development of all NBC dramas. President of NBC Entertainment Jennifer Salke said this about Igbokwe:

“Pearlena has forged an impressive track record over her successful career that has earned her the admiration of the creative community,” said Salke. “She will bring a unique perspective to development that will help us reach our goal of once again making NBC the home of some of the best and most respected dramas on television.”

Igbokwe comes to NBC from Showtime and was instrumental in developing and overseeing such Showtime series as “Nurse Jackie” and “The Big C” and the two-time NAACP Image Award Winning show, “Soul Food.”

Once again, CONGRATULATIONS and looking forward to the awesome programming I know this sistah is going to bring to NBC’s lineup.
