Soul Crooner Aretha Franklin has earned an Honorary Degree from Princeton University earlier this week. The music legend was given a Doctorate of Music from the prestigious institution of higher learning.
According to NJ.com, School Trustee Stephen Oxman had this to say about the soul music icon, “With her singular ‘Amazing Grace,’ she continues to traverse musical bridges over trouble water, and by remedying us to think, do right and call on her, the Queen of Soul will forever command the world’s R-E-S-P-E-C-T.”
We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. Congratulations Ms. Franklin!
