Last night, ASCAP hosted its 3rd Annual Legends Dinner honoring iconic music executive Antonio L.A Reid. The private affair was held in Atlanta’s beautiful Mandarin Hotel in Buckhead.
Many of the musical artists that Reid help discover were there to pay homage to him including former Exscape member, Kandi Burruss-Tucker and Goodie Mob’s CeeLo Green, Big Gipp and T-Mo. The evening was hosted by singer-songwriter Usher; Grammy–winning member of Outkast, Big Boi; and music executive and producer, Kawan “KP” Prather.
Reid was also saluted by his long-time collaborator and co-founder of LaFace Records, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds and his daughter, Ashley Reid. ASCAP’s Executive VP of Membership, John Titta and VP of Rhythm & Soul/Urban Membership, Nicole George-Middleton were also on hand to present the award.
Other invited guests included music executive Shanti Das; Disturbing tha Peace co-founder, Chaka Zulu; Tree Sound Studios owner and artist, Mali Hunter; Atlanta Exes star, Monyetta Shaw; actor Astro; former AJC music editor, Sonia Murray; production duo, Rock City; super music producers, Timbaland, Brian Michael Cox, Sean Garrett, Troy Taylor; singer-songwriter, Johntá Austin; and newly signed Sony artist, Avery Wilson.
