Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Tina Turner is saying good-bye to the U.S. and is officially becoming a citizen of Switzerland.
The 73-year old performer, who has lived there for quite some time, is trading in her U.S. homeland for the Zurich suburb of Kuesnacht saying, “I’m very happy in Switzerland and I feel at home here…I cannot imagine a better place to live.”
TMZ broke the news yesterday citing that she wanted to “clarify her situation.” According to a local Swiss newspaper, the local council has already granted Turner their approval for her citizenship. Now, she is just waiting for state and federal authorities to make it official.
Turner was born in Nutbush, Tennessee but has been living in Switzerland since the mid-‘90’s.
