Pop music icon Janet Jackson was honored last night at the 2013 amfAR New York gala. The black tie affair was held at Cipriani Wall Street on the eve of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week and National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day.
Jackson was indeed the ‘bell of the ball’ rocking a very revealing black open side/open back dress with killer heels. She was recognized for her tireless work and outstanding contributions for the fight against HIV/AIDS. Other honorees included Project Runway creator and supermodel, Heidi Klum and fashion icon Kenneth Cole.
In December, Jackson released a PSA for amfAR commemorating World AIDS Day. She also wrote a piece for CNN about focusing on prevention efforts for those communities that are disproportionately affected by HIV, such as black women.
Jackson just recently announced her engagement to billionaire boyfriend, Wissam Al Mana.
