Kevin Hart’s faux reality series the “Real Husbands of Hollywood” has been renewed for another season.
The popular BET comedy, which spoofs the various “Housewives” series, proved to be a ratings winner debuting to 4.1 million viewers in January. The show stars Hart along with Nick Cannon, Boris Kodjoe, Duane Martin, J.B. Smoove and Robin Thicke. Rapper Nelly and comedian Fazion Love, who made regular appearances during season one, are expected to return next season.
BET’s president of music programming and specials, Stephen Hill says, “When we launched this series in January, we knew our audience would have as much fun watching it as we had making it, and since it has been on the air, fans have voiced on social media that they want more. So this was a pretty simple decision: ‘Hey! Let’s make more!”
He also goes on to say, ““We are beyond thrilled that Kevin Hart and the stellar Husbands will be back bickering and back-biting, for another season on BET.”
In other Kevin related news, the star’s new stand-up comedy movie, titled Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain will open this summer July 4. However, it will make its world premiere at the closing of the American Black Film Festival on June 22nd.
According to Indie Wire, the film includes clips from Hart’s 2012 10-country concert tour, where he traveled to 80 cities and generated over $32 million in ticket sales. It will also be a follow up to his last stand up film, Kevin Hart: Laugh at My Pain.
