Comedian Martin Lawrence is reportedly pairing up with actor and producer Kelsey Grammer for a new “Odd Couple” type sitcom.

Deadline  is reporting that the two entertainers met with Lionsgate TV right before Thanksgiving to discuss the idea and were said to have great chemistry together.  However, the project was put on hold due to Grammer’s highly publicize divorce from his reality star wife Camille.  Apparently there was concern that she might try to lay claim to the project since she owned half of Grammnet Productions, the same production house which created hits shows Girlfriends, Medium and The Game.  Now that the financial settlement is over, the project has been put on a ‘fast track.’

The series would mean a big return for both veteran stars that haven’t enjoyed the television spotlight in quite some time.  Grammer is best known for his role on Cheers  and Fraiser  while Lawrence is known for the 90’s sitcom Martin  and films Bad Boys  and Big Mama’s House.  No word yet on the name of the show or when it will debut.

RC will keep you posted as this one develops.
