Grammy winning-singer, Kelly Rowland will guest star on season 2 of the FOX hit series, Empire. Miss Kelly will play the mother of Lucious Lyons (Terrence Howard) in some flash back scenes. Reportedly, Lee Daniels wants to show the origins of Lucious and “his ride or die” chick, Cookie Lyons (Taraji P. Henson) before they built Empire Records. Rowland will be in good company this season as she will also be joining previously announced entertainers—Chris Rock, Lenny Kravitz, Marisa Tomei and Alicia Keys. [ENEWS!]
Scandal actor, Cornelius Smith, Jr. has a lot to be happy about these days. The former soap opera star has been upgraded from a recurring character to a series regular on the hugely popular ABC drama. Smith played Washington D.C. community activist, Marcus Walker during season 4 episodes, “I’m Just a Bill” and “The Lawn Chair” which tackled the problematic issue of white police brutality toward young African-American men.
