Thursday night, rap icon Antwan “Big Boi” Patton teamed up with Walmart to distribute coats to inner city youth of Atlanta. The winter coat drive was held at the newly opened East Point location on Cleveland Avenue and was sponsored in part by the rapper’s Big Kidz Foundation. Fulton County Youth Commissioner Coordinator, Reginald Crossley assisted with hosting duties as well as hip-hop music executive Shanti Das.
Several families lined up to receive their coats and were also granted an opportunity to get a photo with the hip-hop legend. There were also a number of coats donated by Walmart employees and fans. For Big Boi, the outreach event is just one of many ways Big Kidz Foundation gives back to the community.
“The Big Kidz Foundation is all about giving back to those in the community who need our help” said Big Kidz Founder Antwan “Big Boi” Patton. “We urge other organizations, businesses and citizens to help us provide coats and other winter wear to families who need us” said Patton. The Big Kidz Foundation has been a fixture in the community since 2006; raising over a million dollars to help local, national and international causes. BKF believes that we all belong to the world community and it is not just a responsibility but a privilege to give back to those who need our help.”
