All good things must come to an end…
Deadline is reporting that Will Packer and Rob Hardy have dissolved their joint company, Rainforest Films. Reportedly, the dynamic duo of motion pictures called it quits last month and released the following statement about their decision:
“The two of us have been friends for over 20 years and will continue to support each other personally and professionally,” they said in a statement to Deadline. “Our respective personal careers have taken us in different directions, and we have decided it is necessary to dissolve Rainforest Films.”
During its 20 year run, Rainforest Films released a number of hit movies including Trois, The Gospel, Stomp the Yard, This Christmas, Obsessed and Takers. In recent years, the two stuck box office gold with a string of romantic comedies including Think Like A Man, Ride Along, About Last Night and Think Like A Man Too, which debuted at No. 1 and made over 30 million at the box office last weekend.
As it stands, Packer has a few new projects brewing under his Will Packer Productions including No Good Deed starring Idris Elba and Taraji P. Henson as well as Ride Along 2 and Girls Trip. Hardy will continue his directing gigs with Criminal Minds, Bones and The Vampire Diaries.
It was good while it lasted fellas!
