Beverly Bond’s 2013 Black Girls Rock was recorded last night at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. This year’s show was hosted again by crowd favorites Tracee Ellis Ross and Regina King.
As previously reported, this year’s honorees included Queen Latifah, Mara Brock Akil, Venus Williams, Ameena Mathews, Misty Copeland and Marian Wright Edelman.
The audience was also thrilled by performances from Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Rowland, Ledisi, Alice Smith, 2012 BGR Honoree Janelle Monae and 2013 Living Legend Award recipient Patti Labelle.
Nia Long, Tatyana Ali, La La Anthony, Marsha Ambrosius and Soledad O’Brien served as presenters.
