Another day, another biopic!
Creed actress Tessa Thompson is taking on the role of legendary jewel thief Doris Payne. She will star in and produce the untitled project with Codeblack.
According to VARIETY, the film is conceived as a high-concept action drama in the same vein as one of my favorite movies, The Thomas Crown Affair and will chronicle Payne’s six-decade long career as a professional thief who has stolen diamonds from Cartier to Monte Carlo.
Payne is known around the world for her sophisticated jewelry heists and has criminal records that go as far back as the 1950s. It is also being reported that she’s had 20 aliases, 10 Social Security numbers and nine dates of birth. What is the world?
