Some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry will be recognized in tonight’s inaugural URBAN ONE HONORS presented by TV One at 8 p.m.

The stellar show, hosted by comedian and REACH Media Syndicated Radio Personality DL Hughley, will honor such notables as Jermaine Dupri, April Ryan, Brandy, Tom Joyner, Marvin Sapp, DJ Khaled, June Ambrose, Doc Walker, Shaun King, Benny Pough, Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, Jade Novah, Dr. Nadia Lopez, Tracy Martin, Sybrina Fulton and Rotimi.

The URBAN ONE HONORS was developed to acknowledge and honor individuals or organizations that have made an extraordinary impact on society and culture. The awards show was taped live at The Anthem Theater in Washington, DC on December 9, 2018.

“All of us at Urban One are dedicated to showcasing and celebrating the very best of us,” said Urban One Founder and Chairperson Cathy Hughes. “We’re providing platforms for urban content. We are in the black people business and proud of it.”

Musical highlights for the evening include performances from Marvin Sapp, K-Ci of Jodeci, Elle Varner, and ATL’s own Avery*Sunshine.
