Producers for the highly anticipated Michael Jackson musical, now titled Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough, have announced that before the show opens on Broadway in 2020, it will premiere in the windy city this fall.
According to Playbill, the musical will debut at Chicago’s famed James M. Nederlander Theatre beginning October 29.
As previously reported, the MJ Estate and Columbia Live Stage have developed the show that is inspired by the late entertainer’s career. Don’t Stop will focus on Jackson during his 20s and 30s and is written by two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage.
The show is also said to include many of Jackson’s classic songs like “Thriller,” “Smooth Criminal,” and “Beat It.” Tony Winner Christoper Wheeldon is directing and choreographing the production.
This show is not to be confused with Quincy Jones’ Michael Jackson musical that he is currently working on with Michael’s brother Jermaine Jackson.
RC will continue to keep you posted on both shows.
