Netflix teamed up with The Cut Life Saturday afternoon for a Big Chop Celebration during the Bronner Bros. International Hair Show. The event is in preparation of the upcoming film Nappily Ever After starring Sanaa Lathan.
The Cut Life held a Big Chop Contest prior to the show where Durann Dungee won the opportunity to have her lucious locs cut by celebrity hairstylist and reality star Larry J. Sims. He is best known for styling some of the biggest stars including Mary J. Blige, Gabrielle Union, Kerry Washington, Zendaya and Tracee Ellis Ross.
In Nappily Ever After, a soulful barber helps a woman piece her life back together after an accident at her hair salon makes her realize she is not living life to the fullest. It also stars Ricky Whittle, Lyriq Bent, Ernie Hudson and Lynn Whitfield.
Nappily Ever After premieres on September 21 on Netflix.
