Comedic actress and star of HBO’s Insecure Yvonne Orji has signed on to star in a new sci-fi titled Spontaneous.
According to THR, the film stars Katherine Langford as Mara Carlyle, a high schooler whose life is changed forever when students in her senior class start exploding for no reason. Mara and her friends begin to question how to live their lives when tomorrow is no longer a guarantee.
Piper Perabo and Rob Huebel will portray Mara’s parents and Orji will star as Special Agent Rosetti, who is investigating the combustions taking place. The project also includes Charlie Plummer, Hayley Law, Chirs Shields, Laine MacNeil, Clive Holloway and Bzhaun Rhoden.
Orji has been on the road over the last few months doing her stand-up comedy and most recently participated in the “Super Bowl Gospel Celebration” with John Gray, Erica Campbell, Sheila E., Donnie McClurkin and Snoop Dogg.
