The life and legacy of Grammy-winning singer, actress and music icon Tina Turner is finally coming to the London stage in a new production titled, “TINA: The Tina Turner Musical.”
Miss Turner announced this week that Broadway star and Tony nominee—Adrienne Warren—would be portraying her in the West End production that is slated to open on March 21, 2018. The show is written by Mountain Top‘s Katori Hall and will follow Turner’s career from her humble beginnings in Nutbush, Tennessse to her transformation into the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll. “TINA” is being presented in association with Miss Turner herself and will show how she defied the bounds of age, gender and race.
“It has been my joy to introduce Adrienne today. From the moment I met her at our last workshop I saw her exceptional talent. Playing this role will require immense physical and emotional commitment, and bravery too. We are thrilled to have found Adrienne, and I very much look forward to spending more time together and developing a special friendship I know will grow even stronger as we prepare the production for the Aldwych Theatre. We can’t wait to welcome her to the show,” said Miss Turner in a statement.
This show has been in the works for a few years now and we’re super excited that it is finally here for all of us to see! Click here for details and to purchase tickets!
