March is Women’s History Month and what better way to celebrate the triumphs of amazing women than through music. Well, that’s exactly what Atlanta jazz singer Kathleen Bertrand is planning to do. The award winning performer is teaming up with five of the city’s top jazz performers for an evening that will pay tribute to the greatest voices of the music genre.

“Sisters in Song” is a salute to jazz divas and will include music pulled from the songbooks of Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Dinah Washington, Nancy Wilson, Nina Simone, Dianne Reeves and Lena Horne.

Joining Bertrand on the evening’s bill is Chandra Currelley, Julie Dexter, Pamela Dillard, Rhonda Thomas and Theresa Hightower.

It all goes down on Sunday, March 19 at 5 p.m. at the acoustically superb Ray Charles Performing Arts Center located on the campus of Morehouse College.

“Sisters in Song” is a Benefit in support of the Spelman College Reunion Class of 1973 and is produced by RLK Events and Kathleen Bertrand in collaboration with the Morehouse College Department of Music.
