“Some people build fences to keep people out and other people build fences to keep people in…”

Take a look at the new extended trailer for the film adaptation of August Wilson‘s “Fences.”  The movie opens nationwide in theaters on Sunday, December 25.

As previously reported, “Fences” is the sixth drama in Wilson’s ten-part “Pittsburgh Cycle.” It focuses on a 53-year-old head of household who struggles with providing for his family and explores the African-American experience and race relations in the 1950’s. It won the 1987 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the 1987 Tony Award for Best Play.

The original production starred veteran actors James Earl Jones, Mary Alice, Ray Aranha, Frankie R. Faison and Courtney B. Vance.  This new adaptation also features Russell Hornsby, Mykelti Williamson, Jovan Adepo, Stephen McKinley Henderson and Saniyya Sydney.
