Nominations for the “68th Annual Emmy Awards” were announced today and a bevy of African-American television and film stars are among those listed.  A big congratulations goes out to Broadway star Audra McDonald, who was nominated for her work in HBO’s “Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grille” while Taraji P. Henson and Viola Davis are up for ‘Lead Actress in a Drama.’

Celebrated actors Idris Elba, Courtney B. Vance and Cuba Gooding Jr. will go toe-to-toe for ‘Lead Actor in a Limited Series’ and “black-ish” stars Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross are up for their work as’ Lead Actor and Actress in a Comedy Series.’

Other nominees include Niecy Nash for HBO’s “Getting On,” Sterling K. Brown and Bookem Woodbine for ‘Supporting Actor in a Limited Series’ and Steve Harvey and RuPaul are competing for ‘Outstanding Host For A Reality Or Reality-Competition Program.’

Beyoncé‘s “Lemonade” is up for ‘Outstanding Production Design For A Variety, Nonfiction, Event Or Award Special’ and will go up against Kenny Leon‘s “The Wiz Live!”
