Decatur’s Bessie Branham Park was transformed into a “Winter Wishland” on Sunday afternoon as hundreds of children gathered to receive gifts for Christmas. The free event was hosted by hip-hop superstars Future and Mike Will Made-It and their Free Wish and Making Wishes Matter Foundations.
Festivities began at 3 p.m. and featured a myriad of activities including face painting, card games, a Christmas photo booth, dance contests, toy balloon making and photos with Santa Claus. Children also had the opportunity to win door prizes including boys and girls bicycles. There were also a number of musical performances including Decatur’s own Hollywood Dollz, Dri Jack featuring JK Howells and Kandi Burruss’ new singing trio Glamour.
In addition to the toys, attendees were also able to buy winter coats with their “Winter Wishland” money. This is the third year that Future and Mike Will Made-It have provided a holiday winterfest for underpriveleged youth and families in Atlanta and Decatur.
Way to go HIP-HOP!
